Calling draft ‘worthless’, Anna sends PM another letter, says don’t cheat

Ignoring appeals by the government to give them time to work out the Lokpal Bill, Anna Hazare on Saturday dashed off yet another letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh doubting the UPA regime’s intentions. He also called the draft of the legislation prepared by a parliamentary standing committee as “worthless”, speaking at a gathering in Bangalore. If the government could not bring a strong anti-corruption law, Hazare said, it should quit. “Bring Lokpal or go away. What is the need for such a government (if it cannot bring a strong Lokpal)? This government has become blind and deaf,” the 74-year-old said during the Bangalore rally.
