The Congress government in Andhra Pradesh headed by N Kiran Kumar Reddy might have heaved a sigh of relief after surviving the no- confidence motion moved by the Opposition parties in the assembly last week, but its troubles are far from over. The real test for the ruling party has just begun. It is more or less certain that as many as 17 Congress MLAs ( including one MLA from Praja Rajyam Party which has since been merged with the Congress), besides an independent MLA associated with the ruling party are going to be disqualified for defying the party whip and voting in favour of the no- confidence motion.
