Putin remains strong despite poll setback

The United Russia party won 238 seats in the Duma in the just held election, which is an absolute majority in the 450-seat lower chamber of Parliament and enough to single-handedly ensure passage of economic reforms. However, the party will have to form a coalition to muster the votes needed to amend the Constitution.
