Congress-RLD tie-up to be UP gamechanger?

Providing some relief to the beleaguered UPA, Rashtriya Lok Dal, headed by Ajit Singh, on Saturday decided to become a constituent of the alliance, not only adding to its stability at the Centre but also boosting the Congress’ prospects in the coming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections for which the two have stitched an alliance. The Government, which recently faced a tough time in Parliament and had to retreat on important policy decisions like FDI in multi-brand retail as both major allies -  Trinamool Congress and DMK—refused to support its economic reforms agenda, would now get the additional support of 5 RLD MP’s.
