UP polls: Cong eyes Muslim votes with grand job quota plan

The Congress party and the UPA government at the Centre are gearing up for Uttar Pradesh polls with a not-so-subtle attempt to hire Muslims in public sector enterprises, banks, financial institutions and most importantly, the railways, the biggest Indian employer after the army. The government also plans to unleash a publicity campaign to tom-tom its plans and achievements in affirmative action just six months before the crucial UP assembly polls.
