Diluted Bill sets stage for Govt-Team Anna showdown

The draft report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Lokpal Bill is set to trigger a fresh  stand off between the Government and Team Anna. The report has rejected several key demands of Anna Hazare and suggestion of the BJP and Left parties. Lower bureaucracy, anti-corruption wing of the CBI, judiciary, and conduct of MPs inside Parliament have been excluded from the Lokpal’s ambit in the draft report.
