Mayawati declares Congress main opponent

Bahujan Samaj Party czarina Mayawati launched her election campaign at a massive rally here on Sunday and sought to block attempts of her rivals to poach into the umbrella social alliance her party forged in the last polls. The Uttar Pradesh chief minister, who singled out Congress for attack, gave a detailed rebuttal to Rahul Gandh's charges of embezzlement of public funds. Gandhi had alleged BSP's elephant does not eat fodder but cash to drive home his point.
