Sonia Gandhi fuels speculation she might hand power to son Rahul

Sonia Gandhi, the 64-year-old leader of the ruling Indian Congress party, has renewed speculation about her health by cancelling what would have been her first public address since having surgery this summer. Gandhi had been due to appear at the rally on Wednesday in the northern state of Uttarakhand amid media speculation that she might be hand over power within Congress to her son, Rahul, before the end of the year.
