Son rise in Congress: Decks ready for Rahul’s coronation

When Congress leader Digvijaya Singh opens his mouth, it is invariably to put his foot in it. But ever so often, the motormouth loose cannon gives a cue to the inner workings of the Congress, and a hint of what is to come. On Friday, he suggested that it was time for Rahul Gandhi to step up and assume greater responsibility within the party. “Rahul has to come into the mainstream. Right now, he is only looking after the Youth Congress and the student wing of the party,” Digvijaya Singh said.
