How Maya govt won political loyalties, case by criminal case

Apart from a clean-up of its own stables, the BSP government has used registration and withdrawal of criminal cases as a means to tackle opposition MLAs. In at least two cases, it ordered withdrawal of criminal cases registered by its own government against Samajwadi Party MLAs when they changed their loyalties. Both formally joined the BSP last week.
