Trinamool throws spanner in land Bill

UPA’s key ally All India Trinamool Congress has thrown a spanner into the Government’s plan to introduce the Land Acquisition & Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill, 2011, in the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament. Sources said that in addition to West Bengal, Punjab and Haryana have also opposed the blanket ban on acquisition of multi-crop irrigated plots in the draft land acquisition Bill.
