UPA to milk cash cow for elections

The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government appears to have learnt from international experiences that cash largesse to the people is a sure shot way of raking in the votes at the hustings. In what could be a potential game-changer in the run-up to the next general elections and prepare the ground for bringing forward the timetable for the polls scheduled for 2014 the UPA government has decided to begin direct cash transfer of subsidies to beneficiaries.
