Saying one thing, doing another

It is ironic that Mahinda Rajapaksa, the President of Sri Lanka, accompanied by Jigme Yoser Thinley, the Prime Minister of Bhutan, laid the foundation stone of Sanchi University of Buddhist and Indic Studies at Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh. It reminds one of Kahlil Gibran’s remark, “I would not listen to a conqueror preaching to the conquered.” The genocidal and hegemonic policies pursued by the Rajapaksa Government against the island Tamils are no secret.
