Is the P Chidambaram's first hint about missing the fiscal deficit target?
Since presenting the Union Budget on February 28, finance minister P Chidambaram hardly missed an opportunity to say that the fiscal deficit target of 4.8% of the gross domestic product is the 'red line' and that it would not be breached. But he did so twice in the last five days, the first time, a day before the state election results and the next, three days after the Congress lost all four states, two of them to a landslide.
