Telecom M&A policy gets EGoM nod

The government moved ahead to kick off consolidation in the beleaguered and debt-laden telecom sector with the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) clearing merger and acquisitions (M&A) policy for operators, the approval coming weeks ahead of the crucial spectrum auction slated in January.
