Maoists kill SP, 4 cops in Jharkhand ambush
Around 100 armed Maoists ambushed and killed a superintendent of police and four cops travelling in a convoy of three SUVs through dense forests in Jamia village in Dumka district of Jharkhand on Tuesday, just 30 km from the West Bengal border. The group was returning from Dumka at around 3pm after a review meeting to Pakur, and attacked along a 65-km stretch of hilly terrain which made it easy for the rebels to strike and disappear into the jungle.
