Never forget your duties for rights

While the Western discourse on human rights is individual-centric, the Indian model puts emphasis on one's duties rather than enjoyment of rights. Beginning with Hegel, most of the Western thinkers believe that “most non-Western cultural and political traditions lack not only the practice of human rights but also the very concept”. They mistakenly believe that the concept of human rights is an artifact of modern Western civilisation.
