LS for action against North East rumour mongers -
New Delhi, Aug 17 - The Lok Sabha today rose as one to apply balm to people from North East who are fleeing parts of the country driven by rumours of impending attacks on them and demanded strong action against those creating fear psychosis. Raising the issue in the Lok Sabha, Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj stressed on the need to rise above party lines and send a clear message that people from the North East have the freedom to live, work and study wherever they wish in the country.

Parliament adjourned after paying tributes to Deshmuk -
New Delhi, Aug 16 - Parliament was today adjourned for the day after paying rich tributes to Union Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, who passed away on Tuesday. "We deeply mourn the loss of our friend and I am sure the House would join me in conveying our condolences to the bereaved family," Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said. She hailed Deshmukh as an able administrator and parliamentarian.

New Delhi, Aug 14 - The violence in Mumbai in reaction to riots in Assam created turmoil in Parliament for the second day today with the Shiv Sena-BJP demanding central intervention and a judicial probe into the incidents. The issue generated heat in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, with Shiv Sena and BJP making common cause over the issue. Congress hit back at the Sena alleging it was attempting to provoke people through articles in its mouthpiece 'Saamna'.

Ramdev, who launched his fast on Thursday demanding that the government take action on the issue of bringing back black money stashed away in foreign shores, began the march at around 1.15 PM from Ramlila Maidan.

New Delhi, Aug 13 - The violence in Mumbai following a rally to denounce riots in Assam had its echo in the Lok Sabha today with Shiv Sena and BJP members storming the well protesting the "total failure" of Maharashtra government to check it. Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Shiv Sena leader Anant Geete condemned the incidents of "fanatic youths" attacking the police and the media and even damaging a martyrs' memorial in Azad Maidan.
