Ahmedabad, July 5 - UPA Presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee today said he did not regret not becoming the Prime Minister, instead of the President.
In reply to the question whether Congress should have made him the Prime Minister instead of offering Presidential nomination, Mukherjee said: "No, no....What I have got is enough."
Mukherjee, here to campaign for the coming Presidential election, met MLAs and MPs of Congress and NCP at the Congress office today.
"I have no comments on it. Every party has the right to make representations," he said, when asked about the possibility that his rival, P A Sangma, would approach the Election Commission against order of the returning officer on the objections to Mukherjee's candidature.
Sangma, who is supported by BJP, BJD and AIADMK, had sought cancellation of Mukherjee's nomination under the Office of Profit rule, alleging that he was chairman of Indian Statistical Institute; a charge rejected by the latter. PTI
