Navy hit by another sex scandal, Antony orders probe
New Delhi, May 14 - The Navy has been hit by yet another alleged sex scandal as the wife of a senior officer has charged her husband with forcing her to get "sexually involved" with his colleagues, prompting Defence Minister A K Antony to order a probe. The case has come up on a day when the Defence Minister asked the top brass of the Navy in its Commanders' conference to take sternest possible action against officers involved in such deeds.

Rail bribery scam probe to be over in 3 months: CBI Chief

Govt forms GoM to insulate CBI from external influence
New Delhi, May 14 - In the wake of the Supreme Court's scathing observations on CBI, the government today formed a Group of Ministers (GoM) to draft a law to insulate the investigating agency from external influence. The GoM, headed by Finance Minister P Chidambaram, has External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, Communications and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari and Minister of State for Personnel V Narayanasamy as members, official sources said.

CBI gets phone transcripts from Italy in VVIP chopper scam
New Delhi, May 13 - CBI has received transcripts of telephone conversations between Italian middlemen and officials of a Defence firm, in which the Italy government has 30 per cent stake, and others in connection with the VVIP helicopter scam . The transcripts of the telephone calls were handed over to the Defence Ministry, which has been made as an "affected party" by the Italian prosecutors, official sources said here today. They have since been given to the CBI.
