Quota quagmire - Economic Times
A constitutional amendment to allow a promotion quota for Scheduled Castes and Tribes (SC and ST) in jobs has been demanded in the Rajya Sabha following the Supreme Court's recent quashing of the UP government's 2007 decision to that effect. This would only aid the detrimental process of caste-identity consolidation that has been a main barrier against the necessity of breaking down caste-identity paradigms in India.

What happened (in 2002) was a blot. But it’s not good if we remember just that and forget other things that are happening. I congratulate Narendra Bhai. Gujarat’s development is helpful for India and if Gujarat develops the nation will also develop. I hope Narendra Modi won’t be confined to Gujarat for long and the nation will get his services.
