But the balance of power has unambiguously shifted in senior party leader and Minister Shivpal Yadav's favour and away from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Since taking charge as the party's State unit chief, Shivpal Yadav has been systematically weeding out functionaries known to be close to the Chief Minister.
