Guwahati, June 15 - About 30 passengers were missing after a country boat capsized in a tributary of the Brahmaputra river in lower Assam's Bongaigaon district tonight, police said.

The country boat with about 40 people and cattle on board was sailing from Chapar in Dhubri district to Oudubi when it capsized in Champavati river at around 7 pm, the sources said.

Ten passengers swam to safety while 30 others were missing.

Senior district administration officials have reached the spot and a search operation is on. PTI
