Panaji, May 30 - The newly-reconstituted Goa State Law Commission would revisit all the 22 reports on various amendments to the laws suggested by their predecessors, a senior official said today.

"We will go through the reports and try to understand them. If suppose, they require certain amendments we will do it and present it before the state government for approval," chairman of the Commission Narendra Sawaikar told PTI today.

The previous commission, led by Ramakant Khalap, Former Union Minister of State for Law and Judiciary, had prepared 22 detailed reports suggesting amendments in the existing state acts like tenancy, land acquisition and others.

Sawaikar said that the commission would apply its mind on these reports before accepting them. The commission was reconstituted after the tenure of former panel got over recently.

The reports had not been accepted by the then Digambar Kamat-led government, even months after they were formally presented to the Law Department.

"If a review of all the reports is required, then the commission will go ahead with that process," Sawaikar added. PTI
