IPS murder: Court extends Manoj Gurjar's judicial custody

Indore, Apr 24 - A special court today extended till May 7 the judicial custody of suspected mining mafia member Manoj Gurjar, who is an accused in the murder of IPS officer Narendra Kumar Singh in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district.

Gurjar was today produced before the Special CBI Judge Dr Shubrha Singh who extended his judicial remand till May 7 as sought by the CBI.

Gurjar allegedly mowed down 32-year-old Singh, who was posted as Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) at Barmore town on March 8 when he tried to intercept a tractor-trolley, laden with illegally mined stones, allegedly driven by Gurjar.

The investigation was handed over to CBI after the slain officer's IAS wife Madhurani sought a probe by the central agency into her husband's murder. PTI
