DMDK to boycott presidential polls -

Expressing disappointment over the alleged neglect by the Centre towards issues faced by Tamil Nadu, Opposition DMDK has decided to boycott the presidential polls to mark its protest. Party founder-leader and Opposition Leader Vijayakant cited the water sharing disputes with neighbouring states, the trouble faced by the fishermen at the hands of the Sri Lankan Navy and other such issues faced by the people of Tamil Nadu to justify his party's decision to stay away from the exercise to elect the next President.
